FOSPS : New Parents

A very warm welcome to the school, and to the Friends of St Paul’s School (FOSPS).

We are a registered charity and our aim is to raise funds for the benefit of our children.

With school finances under more pressure than ever, we believe that the school and parents working in partnership is the most positive way to secure the best educational experience for our children. Every pound raised by FOSPs goes directly to providing for the school and our children. We all want our children to have the best Primary Education. The money we have raised over the years has provided improved facilities like the Library and outdoor Reception classrooms, and valuable experiences like Arts Week, Science Week and Spanish Day.

In the last academic year FOSPs helped to raise a record £58,649 which, among other things, paid for:

  • The school playground
  • Funds towards the running track
  • SATs resources for year 6
  • Lunchtime sports coaching
  • Instrumental tuition for all year 4 pupils

In addition to the above, we have been raising money towards a new set of laptops for the whole school to use.

We meet as a committee once a month, usually the first Thursday at 8pm. We discuss fundraising ideas and agree with the headteacher on how to spend the money we have raised.

Our AGM is in October; this is when you can join the committee, or just come along to hear details of what we have been up to.

You don’t need to be on the committee to contribute. We need ideas and help from everyone.

Email: fospscontact@gmail.com, speak to your class rep, or just pop along to a meeting to share your ideas.

All of our events need helpers and supporters; look out for emails from your class rep asking for volunteers and help out when you can. Come along and enjoy events; the Quiz, the Christmas Fayre, the Panto and our Summer Fete to name but a few – none would be a success without the full support of the parent body.

I look forward to meeting you all over the coming year.

Best wishes,

Jacky Mansfield
Chair
