We have added an Daily Absence Report Form on the website (Parents/Forms) which can be used as an alternative to phoning school to report your child's absence.  Please do not email the school office to report absences.

Collective Worship

We encourage you to discuss the themes we explore further with your child at home.

Here are some suggested questions and prayers you may wish to use.

This week

Themes:
God keeps his promises to Abraham

God’s promise included all people

Questions:
Have you ever looked forwards to something and then been surprised that the reality was much better than you’d been expecting? How did you feel?

Challenge:
Include a person in your games or at break time that you aren’t usually friends with.

Prayer:
Father God, thank you that you welcome everyone to be a friend of God. Help us to show that same welcome to everyone. Amen

Next week

Themes:

Reflect on the wonders of God and the goodness of his guidance for living.

Living well with others

Questions:

Why do you think God gave people rules to live by?

Do you think people need rules? Why/why not?

Challenge:

When you are in a tricky situation this week and are not sure what to do, stop and think about how God might want you to act.

Prayer:

Father God, help me to live today as you would want me to. Amen

Reception's Chinese New Year

Last week, Reception learnt about Chinese New Year: the Year of the Dragon. They had many opportunities to create pieces of artwork linked to this theme such as making Chinese tea cups, dragon masks, writing Chinese numerals and even got creative doing some lion dancing too!

Year 1's Science

In our science we have been investigating materials. We tested how ‘stretchy’ socks are by measuring them first and using those measurements to cut out a piece of paper. We then stretched the sock, cut out another piece of paper and, by comparing the two, could show how long the sock was when stretched.

We created a bar chart to show our results.

Year 2's Clay Tile Houses

This week the children in year 2 have completed their clay tiles, inspired by the sculptor Rachel Whiteread. The children have applied their own design ideas in a final piece that uses techniques such as cutting, shaping, joining and impressing into clay.

Year 5 - Enfield Dance Festival

This year, Year 5 have been selected to take part in the Enfield Dance Festival at the Millfield Theatre. We started rehearsing at the end of January, and now we only have a couple of weeks left before the show. We are all excited to perform! In the rehearsals we all try our best to dance and listen to Mrs Payne and Mrs Hewitt. We have our dress rehearsal soon at the theatre. All 22 of us are nearly ready to perform on stage!
