Reminders
As we continue to experience hot weather, I would like to remind parents to ensure your child has sun cream applied in the morning, brings a cap to school, and has their water bottle with them.
Office Chairs
We have started to clear out our IT room in preparation for it being converted to our new STEAM room. If you would like one of the chairs below or know someone who would, please let the office know.
Vacancies
We have 2 vacancies at the moment. One for a Learning Assistant (EYFS) and one for an Outdoor Learning Assistant (this is for one day a week, working with small groups of children in our garden area). Please use the link below if you would be interested in either position.

At Saint Paul’s, we see our daily acts of collective worship as time for children and staff to come together and reflect on their own values and beliefs, as well as respecting those of others. It is important to us that children feel comfortable to express themselves, while also recognising the diversity of perspectives within our school community.
Clergy led worships currently follow the theme of Spirituality, while other worships are drawn from the London Diocesan Board of Schools cycle of Collective worship based around Bible readings in Church each week. These are developed further throughout the week. We encourage you to discuss the themes we explore with your child at home. Here are some suggested questions and prayers you may wish to use.
This week
Themes drawn from Romans 5:1-5 and John 16:12-15
God, by his very nature, is beyond understanding, but it is still possible to see him at work.
Consider the nature of the Trinity.
Questions:
What do you understand about the Christian belief in one God?
What big questions do you have about God or belief in God?
Challenge:
This week look for anything that may have shown or suggests God at work in the world or your life.
Prayer:
Father God, help me to experience your love for me this week. Amen
Next Week
Themes drawn from Psalm 22:19-29 and Luke 8:26-39
Rescue and freedom from those things that oppress.
Celebrating Cultures Week
Questions:
Have you ever been rescued from something? What happened?
How do you feel when someone comes to help or rescue you when you get stuck?
Have you ever prayed to God when you needed help? Why/why not? What happened?
Challenge:
Look for an opportunity to help someone this week.
Prayer:
Lord God, please use me to help others, Amen.
Some upcoming religious festivals and holy days
June 21 – World Humanist Day
This is a Humanist holiday, celebrated annually around the world but especially in America, on the June solstice. It is seen as a day for spreading awareness of Humanism as a philosophical life stance and as a means for effecting change in the world.
June 26 – Muslim – Islamic New Year 1443/ Al-Hijra/Ra’s Ul ‘Am (Muharram 1)
The day commemorates the Hijra or migration of the Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Medina in 622 CE, which led to the establishment of the Muslim community there. It is not universally celebrated amongst Sunni Muslims but is notable since Muslim years are dated from this time and are marked AH (Anno Hegirae – the year of the Hijrah) or After the Hijrah. In 2021 CE, the Muslim year 1443 AH begins.
June 27- Christian – Sacred Heart
The Feast of the Sacred Heart has been in the Roman Catholic Liturgical calendar since 1856, and is always celebrated 19 days after Pentecost Sunday and always falls on a Friday.
June 27 – Ratha Yatra - Hindu
Krishna is attended on his journey by his brother and sister. The festival and others like it are celebrated in Britain with processions through various parts of London on appropriate Sundays.

Saint Paul’s Parents’ Prayer Group Earlier this half term, Ruby, Melissa, Bea, Amelia and Matthew joined the Parents’ Prayer group and lead some of the prayers. The involvement of the Collective Worship Committee reflects our school's commitment to nurturing spiritual development and providing students with meaningful opportunities to lead and serve within the wider school community.
Thank You for bringing us together today as one family.
Help us to be united in love, like the family You want us to be.
Teach us to live in peace, following the example of Saint Paul.
May we shine like stars in all that we do.
Amen.
Prayer for Peace
Lord Jesus,
You taught us to live in peace and love one another.
Help us to follow Your example and bring peace wherever we go.
As we journey together in our school family,
May we flourish and help others to flourish too.
Amen.
Prayer for Our School Family
Heavenly Father,
Bless our school family and help us to stay united in love.
Just as Saint Paul was transformed by Your glory,
Help us to grow in faith and kindness.
May we always strive for excellence in all we do,
And work together to make the world a better place.
Amen.
Prayer for Peace in the World
Dear God,
Our world needs peace, and we want to help.
Guide us to be peacemakers, sharing Your love with everyone.
As we journey together in life,
Help us to be like Saint Paul—brave and full of hope.
May we shine like stars, bringing Your light wherever we go.
Amen.
Podcast Recording
Members of the committee also recorded a new episode of our podcast, in which they discuss their interpretations of the school vision and what it means to them. This, along with previous episodes, is available via the podcast page of our school website.
Leading Collective Worship
Ruby, Maria and Teddy are also leading the whole school collective worship on Friday 20th June for World Refugee day. The aim is to explore the experiences of refugees and reflect upon what we can learn from them and how we can welcome people into our communities. Well done!
Year 1 Science
Our science topic in year 1 this half term is plants. This week the children looked for flowers around the school. They studied different flowers looking carefully at their structures and checking for any buds. It was an opportunity to use vocabulary such as petals, stems and buds. The children learned that buds are baby flowers that haven’t opened yet. Inside the bud, the flower parts are forming and getting ready to bloom into a full flower.

Year 3 Money Week
This week Year 3 enjoyed taking part in ‘Money Week’. They took part in activities that helped them understand how to manage their money wisely, from saving and budgeting to recognising good value. They loved having a classroom shop where they could purchase different items, as long as it was within their budget.
