STEAM Room

During the summer holidays, we embarked on an ambitious transformation of our IT room, converting it into a dedicated STEAM room. STEAM, which encompasses science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics, represents an approach to learning that encourages students to explore, experiment and engage with these interconnected subjects in meaningful ways.

The room will provide the children with opportunities to engage in hands-on learning experiences that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

I am pleased to report that we are in the final stages of this exciting project. We are currently waiting for the bespoke furniture to be manufactured and installed, after which the room will be ready for use. We expect the STEAM room to be in use after the October half-term, and I know the children are eager to begin exploring all that it has to offer.

This project would not have been possible without the exceptional dedication and hard work of FOSPS and the generosity of our parent body. Over the past few years, the FOSPS have organised numerous events and fundraising activities to generate the funds necessary for this transformation. Their commitment to enhancing the children’s educational experience has been unwavering, and we owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude.

We have also been incredibly fortunate to receive a generous legacy from a local resident, which has enabled us to complete the room to the highest standard. This unexpected gift has allowed us to fully realise our vision for the STEAM room and ensure that it will serve our students well for many years to come.

I look forward to sharing this wonderful new facility with you all once it is completed. The STEAM room represents our ongoing commitment to providing innovative and engaging learning opportunities that will prepare the children for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

Thank you so much to a number of parents who have worked with us on this project, especially during the planning and building stage. It is very much appreciated, especially Sinead

World Car Free Day

To celebrate World Car Free Day, Enfield Council will be visiting our school on Thursday 18 September. There will be different activities taking place on the school field, including a smoothie bike, art activities and Dr Bike, where there is the opportunity for both children and adults to have minor repairs completed on their bikes. The event runs from 3.45 until 5pm. All children need to be accompanied by an adult and will be dismissed in the normal way. Extra club children will have the opportunity to attend.

Some reminders:

Please make sure you choose school lunches by 8.00am on each day. This helps to make lunchtime run as smoothly as possible.

If you are picking your child up from the back gate, please do not park in the road by George Parr House. This is a private road and I have already had complaints from local residents about St Paul’s parents parking in the road. It is also dangerous when the children are coming out of school.

Name and Class

Please can you put your child's name and class on all correspondence to the school.  This saves so much time getting messages through to the right staff quickly.

Remeber to check that uniform and personal belongings are clearly named.  Our lost property is already accumulating.

Thank you!

Thank you for your support with the change in School Street and arrangements at the end of the day. I have noticed a number of cars driving down Ringwood Way, so please be aware of the road. Please can you make sure the gate into the playground is kept clear so that people can enter and exit. A reminder that dogs are not permitted on school grounds.

Year 3

Year 3 have started their new computing of ‘stop-frame animation’. We looked at how animations are a sequence of pictures and then started to make our own flip-book animations.
