World Mental Health Day 2025
World Mental Health Day 2025 is taking place on Friday 10 October. Young Minds is a mental health charity for children, young people and their parents. To help raise funds for Young Minds, we are asking the children to wear something yellow with their school uniform on Friday 10 October. It could be a wristband, a ribbon, a badge or socks. Please donate a small amount to the school’s fundraising page by clicking the link below. Thank you.
Thursday 2 October is national School Census Day. We would be very grateful if your child had a school lunch on this day, as the number of lunches taken feeds into the funding the school receives.
Year 6 House Captains
Well done to all Year 6’s who shared some fantastic thoughts as to why they should be chosen as House or Sports Captains this year. The application letters and speeches were of a very high standard.
Individual photos & sibling photos
A reminder that individual and sibling photographs will take place on the 8 October.
Break Time Snacks
Please make sure, if you are sending a snack in for your KS2 child to have at break time, that they are having fruit or vegetables only.
Midday Supervisors
We are looking to recruit new midday supervisors. If you know anyone who may be interested in this role, please ask them to contact the office for further information.
Art Therapist
We have an art therapist working within the school for the Autumn and Spring terms. She currently has availability to see a few more children. The sessions would be 1:1 in a private space and paid for by parents, providing a safe space for children to express themselves and explore their emotions. Please contact the school office if you would like to be put in contact to find out more details.
Year 1 Science Walk
In our Science lesson this week, Year 1 learnt about our sense of ‘hearing’. We walked around the school and wrote a list of different things that we could hear. Back in the classroom, we identified what each sound was and whether it was a natural sound or man-made.

Year 3 Explore Seasonal Foods in D&T
This week, Year 3 continued their Design and Technology unit on seasonal food. On Tuesday, the children enjoyed tasting a variety of fruits and vegetables as inspiration for designing their own delicious tarts. A fun and flavourful step in their creative culinary journey!

Year 5 Science
In Year 5 science, we are exploring forces and mechanisms. We completed an experiment to demonstrate how the size of a canopy affects the time it takes a parachute to fall. We dropped a range of different sized parachutes and used a stopwatch to record how long it took them to reach the ground.
