Oscar and Eva joined the Parents’ prayer group. They had written their own prayers to include in the meeting. They also offered up to God all of the prayers that had been placed in our school prayer box.
Here are the prayers the children wrote.
A Prayer for Remembrance
Dear God,
We pray for all the men and women who fought for our country in the war. We appreciate what they sacrificed for us to live our lives today.
Thank you, Lord.
Amen

Reception - Anti Bullying Week
Reception enjoyed their introduction to Anti-bullying Week. We have focused on what it means to be a good friend.
To celebrate our differences, we designed our own pair of odd socks on Odd Socks Day.

The book – Giraffes Can't Dance
This week, the children took part in a range of thoughtful and engaging activities to mark Anti-Bullying Week. We began by reading Giraffes Can’t Dance, using the story to explore themes of kindness, confidence and celebrating our differences. The children discussed how the character, Cricket, showed friendship and respect.

The class then composed their own poems about what makes a good friend. They came up with wonderful ideas—highlighting qualities such as kindness, sharing, listening and helping others.

Year 3
Some of our Year 3 children had a great morning at the Tottenham training ground. They took part in lots of different drills learning new skills. They then took part in some small sided matches. Thank you to Tottenham for hosting us!

Year 4 – Anti-Bullying Week
Year 4 have been busy immersing themselves in Anti-Bullying Week! The children have spent time reflecting on what the term ‘bullying’ really means and discussing how we can all play a part in stopping it.
One of the highlights of the week was our Compliment Carousel, where everyone shared kind words about one another. This activity helped us recognise our own special qualities as friends and explore how we can use them as a true ‘Power for Good’.
The children have also taken part in an Anti-bullying workshop where they were learning about their own Power for Good and how they can apply this to real life scenarios.

Year 5
This year, the theme for Anti-Bullying Week was “Power for Good.” To celebrate, we explored all the different ways we can use our actions, words, and choices to make a positive difference. Together, we created our own lightning bolts, filled with ideas about how we can show our power for good in everyday life.
We also took part in Odd Socks Day, designing our own colourful and creative sock patterns to celebrate individuality and remind ourselves that it’s great to stand out and be ourselves.
To finish the week, we created our own anti-bullying comic strips. Each comic featured a superhero who stands up for others, uses kindness as their superpower, and shows how small actions can help stop bullying. Our storylines showed how everyone—no matter how big or small—can use their power for good.

Year 5 - Trip to Westminster Abbey
Last Tuesday, Year 5 went on a trip to Westminster Abbey to enrich our RE and History learning. We took part in a workshop about Pilgrimage, following our work on the recent RE day, and also learnt more about the use of the Abbey for coronations, which links to our current History topic – the changing power of the Monarchy.
Making our Pilgrim Badges
Diary entry by Jonah 5HP
Today I went to Westminster Abbey. We went there on behalf of our new monarchy topic in history. First, we got the train to Highbury & Islington. Then from Highbury & Islington we got the train to Victoria.
Next, we walked to the Abbey. We were greeted by a lady who gave us a PowerPoint on St Edward the Confessor. Then we made pilgrim badges.
After, we took a guided tour, seeing historic places such as: the place where the kings and queens are crowned and where St Edward the Confessor is buried.
Then we had lunch. I was starving so I wolfed down my food.
Next, we took a look around and we went upstairs. We were really high! I took a look around with my friends and saw lots of cool things.
After, we went to the shop where I bought some quills. Then we packed up and went home.
I had a great day that I will never forget.
While in the abbey, we visited the grave of an unknown soldier and saw preparations for Remembrance day.
Year 6 – Science
Year 6 have been learning about reversible and irreversible changes in science. They carried out an experiment in the STEAM room to see what would happen when bicarbonate of soda is added to vinegar. A chemical reaction took place and carbon dioxide gas was produced (an irreversible change). This gas inflated the rubber glove and made it wave!
