'Shine like stars in the world'

Welcome from Mrs Cresswell

As we move into the season of Harvest, we think about our blessings and what we have to be thankful for.

We celebrated our Harvest Festival at St Paul’s church yesterday. The children read and sang beautifully, it was wonderful to have so many parents/carers join us to be part of the service.

Thank you for all of your donations to the North Enfield Food Bank. I am sure you will agree it is a very worthy cause, especially during the current climate. It is important for the children to have awareness of current local issues and an opportunity to promote the Christian ethos and values of our school, as well as preparing the children to be positive members of the community.

The month of October brings Black History Month and, as ever, it is important to be clear that our intention is that the focus of Black History Month will not be confined to October. As a school we continue to work hard to ensure that our curriculum is broad and diverse, and are always looking at ideas of how to improve this.

Chair of Governors

Please find below a communication from our new Chair of Governors, Theresa Davis.

"I am writing to introduce myself as the new Chair of Governors at St Paul’s school.  I have been a member of the Governing Board of St Paul’s for just over a year now, but, although I am relatively new to the St Paul’s family, I have had plenty of experience as a governor at both Bishop Stopford School and at St Andrew’s School, both in Enfield. I am particularly delighted to have become the Chair of Governors at what is an exciting time for our school, with the new Senior Leadership Team and the start of the partnership with St Andrew’s school.

These are challenging times for all schools and a good working relationship between governors, staff and parents is vital if we are to meet those challenges. My fellow governors and I hope to meet as many of you as possible at various school events over the coming year, as we work together to achieve the best outcomes for the children at St Paul’s school.

Theresa Davies"

Online e safety

On Wednesday 12th October, ECP will visit St Paul's to deliver workshops for all children about online safety. After school, our staff will be trained and a video link will be made available on Monday 10th October via email for parents to access throughout the week. It is important to note that the video will no longer be available after Sunday 16th October.

Guidance to support your access of the training will be sent out on Monday 10th October.

We are looking forward to our annual visit from ECP and encourage all parents to watch the latest, up-to-date training on keeping children safe online.

The children have used a range of scientific enquiry skills throughout their lessons as they become super scientists!

As some of you will know, Father Richard is retiring from his post at Holy Trinity church. Today Father Richard led his last whole school collective worship. Everyone at St Paul's would like to say a big thank you to all Father Richard has done to support us, we will miss him.

Year 1 went to Whipsnade Zoo

We did a lot of walking! We saw lots of different animals including a baby elephant which was only 3 weeks old. We took part in a workshop where we looked at skulls and footprints of different animals.
