For the first week of this half term, the Clergy lead daily acts of worship exploring the impact of the resurrection on the first disciples and the themes of belief and doubt through figures such as Mary Magdalene and Thomas. Clergy led worships for the rest of this half term follow the themes for collective worship from the London Diocesan Board of Schools cycle of Collective worship based around the Bible readings in Church each week.

Here are some suggested questions and prayers which you may wish to also use with your children at home.

This week

Themes drawn from Psalm 30 and John 21:1-19

  • Forgiveness
  • Fresh starts
Questions

Have you ever made a really bad mistake? How did it make you feel?

Have you ever been forgiven? What happened? How did it make you feel?

Is it easier to forgive someone or accept forgiveness from someone? Why do you think that?

Challenge:

Choose to forgive someone this week.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you that you freely forgive us when we are truly sorry and turn to you. Amen

Next Week

Themes drawn from Psalm 23 and Acts 9:36-43

  • God gives new life spiritually and physically.
  • The example of Dorcas, caring for others.
  • Loving and caring for others as a reflection of God’s love and care.
Questions:

What good things are you known for?

How do you show care for others?

What reminds you or makes you think about God’s love and care for you?

Challenge:

Thank someone who cares for you.

Show care for someone at school or where you live this week.

Prayer:

Lord God, thank you for your loving care for me. Amen

Collective Worship Committee and the Parents' Prayer Group

Earlier this half term, children from the school’s Collective Worship Committee joined the Parents’ Prayer group and lead some of the prayers. The involvement of the Collective Worship Committee reflects our school's commitment to nurturing spiritual development and providing students with meaningful opportunities to lead and serve within the wider school community.

The Parent’s Prayer Group is open to all. Details of how to join the group can be found on the Parents Prayer Group page of our Website. T

These are the children’s prayers.

Dear God,
Thank You for all the children in our school.
Please help us to be kind, brave, and to always try our best.
When we’re feeling nervous or left out, remind us that You are with us.
Help us to look out for each other, include everyone, and have fun while we learn.
Thank You for our friends, and thank You for helping us grow.

Amen.

Dear God,
Thank You for our mums, dads, carers, and everyone who looks after us
.
Please help them when they’re busy or worried.
Give them peace in their hearts and joy in their homes.
Help us to show love back to them, even when we forget.
Thank You for giving us people who care for us so much.
Amen.

Dear God,
Thank You for the amazing world You made – the oceans, the animals, the forests, and the skies.
Please help us to take better care of it.
Show us how to stop polluting and wasting things,
and help people everywhere to work together to protect nature.
We pray for places where there are floods, fires, or no clean water.
Please bring healing to the earth and hope to the people.
Help us to be the generation that makes a real difference.
Amen.

EDI

Do you want to support the school in maintaining an inclusive, welcoming and nurturing community?

Are you passionate about diversity and inclusion?

Then please join the EDI Ambassadors, a team of parents and teachers working together to embed Ethnic Diversity and Inclusion into the fabric of St Pauls.
We meet once every half term to discuss how the school can celebrate diversity through the curriculum and school life, explore new ideas and initiatives, and offer a sounding board for teachers.

We want to expand the group to include at least one parent Ambassador from each class, so if you’d like to get involved or learn more, please contact the office and someone from the group will be in touch office@st-pauls.enfield.sch.uk

Sports News - St Pauls v Bush Hill Park

On the 8th of May, St Pauls played Bush Park in the Quarter Finals of the Fursman Cup. Bush Hill are currently warming up whilst St Pauls are having a team talk with Mr Birkbeck.

With an exciting kick off, Bush Hill, starting with the ball, dribbled it down to their goal. Joshua, from St Pauls, taking the first throw-on, closely followed by an unsuccessful attempt for a goal, by Matthew. Soon after, Josua takes a great header getting the ball away from our goal. Jacob got the ball close to the goal but sadly got tackled by a Bush Hill Park player. Arturo scored a great goal making the score 1-0 to St Pauls.

After a few more headers and attempted goals, Bush Hill Park made their first shot. Swiftly diving to the side, Seb saved it. Ferociously, Jacob booted the ball and it narrowly missed the goal. It’s a throw on to Bush Hill and one of their players took a great shot but it just hit the crossbar and was batted away by Seb. Joshua took a massive kick and the ball rocketed up the pitch, but was blocked by a Bush Hill  Park student. At half time, the score was 1-0 to St Pauls. Both teams are now in a huddle, listening to their coaches.

As the second half begins, Jacob starts and almost instantly, St Pauls try to score. Unfortunately, they missed but the game was soon back in play and excitement levels were mounting. Dribbling up the pitch, a Bush Hill player took an enormous kick and Alexander just couldn’t reach it in time. The ball sailed in making the score 1 all. As Thomas from Bush Hill Park talkies the throw on, kicked out and it’s a corner. Excitingly, Matthew scored an amazing goal making the score 2-1 to St Pauls.

In an exciting tackle, between Matthew and a Bush Hill Park player, the ball goes off and it’s a throw on. In the last few minutes, a Bush Hill Park student boots the ball halfway up the pitch, missing our goal. In an intense tackle, Matthew gets hit with the ball and it’s a free kick. He took a short run up and Kicked the ball. Unfortunately, it hit the crossbar! As the final whistle blows, the score is 2-1 to St Pauls and we win. Well done to St Pauls!
