The Walkathon

Last week, Years 1 and 2 had a Walkathon.  After lunch we walked around the playing field and our parents were there cheering us.  We weren’t allowed to run – we just walked and that’s why it’s called a Walkathon.

There were obstacles on the field.  We went under ropes and over hurdles.  We crawled under a blanket and we stepped through hoops.  We also had to put bean bags on our heads and turn round three times.

Every time we went round the field we were given a sticker and at the very end we received a really big sticker and a medal.

Our parents put money in buckets and we raised lots of money for the school to buy new playground equipment.

The Walkathon was really fun but it was tiring.
